BJHS WRESTLING UPDATE #2
THANK YOU
Thank you for all the support on Saturday. It is your support that our program successful.
COMING UP THIS WEEK
WEDNESDAY
Adrian White will visit us. I have e-mailed their coach our perspective line-up and he will reply with his. We should know who will have matches no later than Tuesday.
THURSDAY
Picture Day – team and individual – pictures will be taken before practice. Envelops are available after practice on Monday and Tuesday or during the meet on Wednesday. If your wrestler is absent on Thursday you may call the photographer to reschedule an individual photo, but team photo will not be retaken.
VARSITY wrestling has a meet with A.A. Huron and Chelsea – wrestlers get in free when they show their cards
FRIDAY
Tournament setup – We need to set up for Saturday’s tournament on Friday night. Due to scheduling, we cannot get the high school mat we need until Friday night. Girls Basketball will probably be in the gym until 6pm. We will use the time between the end of practice and when the B-ball team finishes going and retrieving the mat from the high school. Once the gym is clear, we will set up all three mats. We need as many people as possible so plan accordingly – the more people we have the quicker it goes.
SATURDAY
Bronco Duals – We will host our annual dual meet tournament. All wrestlers are invited to dress and be with the team, but due to the limited number of matches in this type of tournament NOT all wrestlers will have a chance to wrestle. Clean-up from the tournament will be right after the tournament – again the more help we have the quicker it will go.
DUNDEE TOURNAMENT
There were some rough patches Saturday especially in the semi-finals when my standard mid-tournament head ache progressed to a full blown migraine. The key to Saturday is what we learned from the experience and we learned a lot. We, as coaches, saw a great many positives, things on which we can build. Many of our youngest wrestlers performed very well. Now is the time to re-evaluate goals. Matches we lost can easily become wins with hard work. Remind your wrestler that there is still 10 matches to go and they need to build on what they have done.
Thanks for all the support at the breakfast on Sunday.
